How We Verify Tailor Shops

Selection Criteria

To appear in this directory, a tailor shop must meet all of the following:

• 100+ Google reviews with a minimum 4.3-star rating. This threshold ensures enough data to assess quality reliably. A shop with 10 reviews could be excellent or could have asked 10 friends to post. A shop with 1,000+ reviews has a track record.
• Active business with a verified Google Maps listing, confirmed address, and recent reviews (within the last 6 months).
• Photos available on Google Maps or the shop's own channels. Visitors need to see what a shop looks like before visiting. No photos means no listing.
• Serves English-speaking visitors. This directory is designed for international travellers. Shops must have English-language reviews confirming they can communicate with foreign customers.

Currently, 40 shops meet these criteria across Old Town and An Hoi Island.

Data Sources

All data in this directory comes from publicly available sources:

• Google Maps: ratings, review counts, addresses, phone numbers, opening hours, and photos. This is the primary data source for every listing.
• Google reviews: review text is analysed to extract themes (what customers praise or complain about), staff names, product specialties, turnaround times, and pricing mentions.
• Shop price lists: where available from shop signage, published materials, or review-mentioned prices. These are used to populate the pricing comparison tables.
• Shop websites and social media: for shops that have them (most Hoi An tailors do not have websites). Used to verify services, photos, and contact details.

How Rankings Work

Shops are ranked using data-driven methods based on publicly available information. The default "Recommended" sort considers Google rating, review volume, and data completeness. Shops with published pricing appear above shops without pricing. Shops without photos appear last.

You can sort by rating, review count, or price on any listing page. The data speaks for itself.

How Often Data Is Updated

Data is reviewed and refreshed regularly to keep listings accurate. Google ratings and review counts are updated from the source. New shops that meet the listing criteria are added. Shops that close or fall below the quality threshold are removed.

The current data was last verified in April 2026.

Found an Error?

If you notice incorrect information about a tailor shop, an outdated price, or a shop that should be included, please contact us. We investigate every report and update the directory accordingly. Shop owners can also claim their listing to update their profile directly.
